never lie by freida mcfadden sheâs with a short, blond haired, blue eyed, strong nosed man named ethan who wears a beanie and is gaslighting her. where have i heard this story before? oh right i lived it. iâm convinced freida mcfadden writes books for dumb people but isnât dumb herself, either that or sheâs stealing plot lines. her plots are so compelling yet the technical aspect of her writing is childish and just flat out not good. is she dumb or just her characters ? the mc tries to get a stain out with HOT water. her repetitiveness drives me up the wall. i donât watch tv, (other than jeopardy and wheel) so trashy quick reads like this are my tv. i know theyâre going to be garbage, but some days i need entertained and donât want to work my own brain; her books are perfect for these days. she was already rubbing me the wrong way on page five by saying âhis strong roman nose kept him from being too pretty.â girl you wrote this in 2022,,, roman noses are in and you look stupid as hell riding the dick of expired european beauty standards at your big age. i guess maybe thatâs how the character feels and not her,, but i've never felt she has the skill to make any of her mcs have different opinions than her. every mc of hers also has some secret that they need to tell the love interest and instead of foreshadowing and revealing things bit by bit, she just keeps saying âi have a secret and im scared to tell himâ over and over again until its revealed, extremely annoying way to write. zero likable characters, but a couple good twists. 4.5/10 Read more
