This past week I visited Cocoa Beach, FL, and got to watch the rollout of the Artemis 1 rocket that'll soon be launching (unmanned) into orbit around the moon. Future missions will be manned, but this first launch is going to be huge. My Dad has been working on this since the very first part was made in 2007, so seeing all 5.5 million pounds of this thing rolling out was monumental. The building pictured is the V.A.B., or Vehicle Assembly Building. The Saturn V that powered the Apollo missions rolled out of this same building, as did every Space Shuttle, and many SpaceX rockets. I was extremely fortunate to be among a small number of spectators allowed so close to this monster of a building, and rocket! Space and tech nerds will love these pics...so, enjoy!
