CYBERPUNK HOODIE DIY: Here's another DIY post! I've been sad that Cyberpunk 2077 was supposed to come out tomorrow before it got delayed, so here's a suuuper basic cyberpunk hoodie. EL (electroluminescent) wire or tape or panels are all flexible surfaces coated in an EL material that glows when you run a current through it. Because it's bendy and runs off batteries, it's a very convenient way to make glowy/cyberpunk clothing. It comes in all kinds of colors, but for this project, I chose blue. Materials: - 1 meter of blue EL tape (I got mine online for $10) - 1 EL wire inverter (this is what lets you power your EL stuff with batteries) (bought it with the EL tape) - 2 x AA batteries (for the inverter) - Adhesive-backed velcro (hooks and loops) - Good scissors - Gel-type superglue/electrical tape Scroll through the photos for the steps I took! Note: I did try sewing the loop-side of the velcro to my hoodie, but it was effectively impossible to do without a sewing machine (or a thimble). If I wanted to make this a more permanent project, I would sew the velcro on. Let me know in the comments if you have any questions! Read more
