Happy New Year and all that. The truth is I don't really do new years. It's just a date change. You see a constant barrage of "this year has been tough", "this year has had its ups and downs" all over social media at this time of year. Well of course it has, every year has its ups and downs. Life has its ups and downs. Next year will as well. It's only a date change. If you want to change your life, don't wait until January 1st to do it. Don't put things off until the New Year and say next year will be better. Just do it, do it straight away. It's not a signifier of anything. New Year's is always famously built up in people's heads with huge expectations and pressure and it's just not necessary. Don't let it get to you. Just live your life and make changes when you need to, not according to a celebratory date.
